~Awards ~ Jacksonville Shell Show 2008 & 2009
I have only recently began to exhibit and show my shell art in a competitive fashion. In June 2008, I exhibited for the first time in Jacksonville, FL at the Jacksonville Shell Show. I entered numerous categories with my shell art and Sailors’ Valentines and came home the triumphant, “Queen of Shells”. What a thrill that it was to come to the shell show on opening morning and discover that my various pieces of shell art and exhibits had won 5 First Place Blue Ribbons and 2 Second Place Red Ribbons! I plan to keep entering various shell shows throughout the year in order to build my award portfolio and hopefully increase sales for shell art and commission orders for my Sailors’ Valentines. If I should be so lucky to win other awards, I will owe it all to God for giving me this talent. We all have it in us to be creative, it just takes a while sometimes to make it happen for ourselves. Never give up on your dreams for they will always keep you alive! Your only limitation is your own imagination!
